We are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Hoylake on Sunday, 14 August.
At around 3.45pm, emergency services were called to Meols Drive, close to the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, to reports of a collision involving a Renault Clio and a male cyclist in his 50s. The cyclist was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
The road was closed while enquiries were carried out and the driver of the car stopped to assist.
Roads Policing Sergeant Amy Murray said: “We’re continuing to investigate the circumstances behind this collision, which has left a man in a critical condition. His family are being supported by specialist officers and our thoughts go out to them at such a difficult time.
“As a matter of priority, we’d like to speak to anyone who was passing the golf club at around 3.45pm on Sunday afternoon, and has any images or footage from dashcam or other devices which may assist.”
Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to contact SCIU on (0151) 777 5747, or email [email protected]. Alternatively DM @MerPolCC quoting reference 22000595720.
