Officers carrying out disruption in South Liverpool have arrested four men and seized weapons, drugs and cash following a stop check near to Sefton Park yesterday evening, Wednesday 17 August.
At around 6pm, officers saw a car being driven erratically on Aigburth Drive. Following a search, knives, suspected drugs and cash were seized and all four men were arrested and taken into custody.
A 26-year-old man from Islington, London was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. He remains in custody.
A 26-year-old man from St Annes, Bristol was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of criminal property. He remains in custody.
A 26-year-old man from Toxteth was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
A 20-year-old man from Toxteth was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs, and possession of criminal property. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Liverpool Community Policing Chief Inspector Charlotte Irlam said: “These arrests are part of ongoing disruption work we regularly carry out, and will remove weapons and drugs which cause harm in the community, as well launching an investigation into those we have arrested.
“We respond to all information about the possession of weapons, drugs and other items, so come forward directly or anonymously with what you know and we will do the rest.”
