We have arrested a man in Kirkby on suspicion of drug offences following a warrant this morning, Monday 22 August.
Officers from our dedicated County Lines investigation team supported by Local Policing colleagues carried out a warrant at a premises on Spinney View.
A 21-year-old man from Kirkby has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to Supply Class A and B drugs; and possession of criminal property. He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
The arrest forms part of an operation to target suspected organised criminals involved in County Lines drug dealing and operating from the Kirkby area.
Speaking about this work, Detective Inspector Gary Stratton, who leads our County Lines Investigation team, said: “This operation means we can expand our commitment to cutting harmful County Lines and such activity will continue, targeting those we suspect of bringing misery onto our streets.
"County Lines drug dealing not only affects the lives of the drug users, but also the communities in which they operate and the young and vulnerable people who are exploited by these criminals.
"We hope today's arrest sends a message out to others involved in this type of criminality that we will take action and you will be arrested and put before the courts."
If you have concerns about drug dealing in your area you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, call Merseyside Police on 101 or DM @MerpolCC. Always contact 999 if a crime is in progress.
