Three men were arrested, a large quantity of drugs seized and a stolen bike found during a day of action in Liverpool yesterday, Wednesday 16 August.
Officers carried out Operation Acuba, which involved increased patrols and the use of road stops in the area in an effort to combat organised crime.
On Upper Parliament Street, officers spotted two men who were wanted on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
The two men, aged 42 and 22, were arrested following a brief foot pursuit on suspicion of aggravated burglary and burglary. They have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Following this, on the same road, officers sighted a passenger in a taxi who was acting suspiciously.
A search under the Misuse of Drugs Act found that the male was in possession of wraps of white and brown powder, a suspected burner phone and a large quantity of cash.
Following a further search of his home, further suspected drugs were found and seized, as well as a stolen electric bike.
A 20-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin), possession of a Class B drug (cannabis), handling stolen goods and possessing criminal property. He has been released under investigation.
Targeted Policing Inspector Michael McEvoy said: “The proactive work of our officers has resulted in a number of arrests as well as the seizure of a large amount of suspected drugs.
“We are determined to disrupt those involved in organised crime in our communities and we will do everything in our power to bring them to justice.
“If you have any information of drugs being used or sold in your area, please let us know. We will act on all information received from the community.”
