Police have now arrested two men following an incident in Anfield yesterday evening, Wednesday 3 August.
At around 6.30pm we received a report that a wanted man had been sighted with another male in the Stanley Park area.
Patrols attended and the males made off on foot. It was further reported that one of the males had discarded wraps of white and brown powder (suspected drugs).
Following a foot chase to Walton Breck Road, officers detained and arrested one of the males, a 17-year-old from Liverpool, on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs.
The second man had climbed on to the roof of a property on Walton Breck Road.
A cordon was in place while officers attempted to engage with him and he came down from the building at around 11.30pm.
The 20-year-old man from Liverpool, who was also wanted on recall to prison, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, affray, public order and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Both men will be taken into custody and questioned by police.
Walton Breck Road was closed between Sleepers Hill and Everton Valley while the incident was dealt with but is open as normal this morning.
We would like to thank the local community for their patience while we dealt with the incident.
