An Accelerated Gross Misconduct Hearing was held at Merseyside Police Headquarters, Cazneau Street, Liverpool, L3 3AN on Wednesday 15 July 2026.
Constable Daniel HUGHES was found to have breached the following Standards of Professional Behaviour, at the level of gross misconduct:

In that In accessing force systems for a non-policing purpose and knowingly passing information When not authorised to and for being convicted of 11 offences, being 8 courts of unauthorised access to computer material contrary to s1 Computer Misuse Act 1990 and 3 counts of disclosing personal data contrary to Section 70 Data Protection Act 2018 you have acted In a manner that has the propensity to bring the police service into disrepute.
The officer was dismissed without notice and has been placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
