The main aim of this policy is to provide a mechanism that complies with legislative requirements and enables staff at all levels to raise issues of concern regarding wrongdoing and inappropriate behaviour within the workplace.

This policy aims to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information by clearly setting out expectations regarding acceptable use of ICT systems and the devices used to get access to those systems.

This policy has two main aims. One is to set minimum standards of investigation for dealing with the making, possession and distribution of indecent images of children, in which Police will work in partnership to ensure protection of children. Another is to ensure that all risks posed are appropriately assessed and management strategies prepared for alleged offenders

Merseyside Police, together with partner agencies, will deal professionally with all incidents involving planned or completed incidents of assisted suicide. All members of the Force, whilst investigating the possible commission of the offence of aiding and abetting the suicide or attempted suicide of another, will act in a compassionate and supportive manner, being non-judgemental as to the wishes of those involved. At all times during an investigation, consideration will be given to the potential impact on any cultural or religious issues.

This policy is required to provide the relevant information to govern the, issuing, use, retention, and actions on the loss of, Police Officer warrant cards, staff members ID cards and ID cards issued by Merseyside Police to volunteers, contractors, secondments and attachments.

Merseyside Police is firmly committed to the effective, safe, and dignified management of detainees who are suspected to be concealing drugs or other contraband inside their body. Application of this policy will be conducted in line with Authorised Professional Practice: Detention and Custody and Merseyside Police will work alongside its partner agencies to identify and support vulnerable people through prevention pathways balancing this need in line with the need to maintain public confidence in the criminal justice system when the requirement remains to bring offenders to justice.

The objective of this policy is to ensure all police officers, police staff, volunteers and cadets are supported upon the report of them being a victim/survivor of domestic abuse. This policy affords staff the opportunity to understand what will happen if they report domestic abuse and what support they can expect from Merseyside Police.
