We can confirm that emergency services are in Stockbridge Village following a serious collision today, Wednesday 25 December.
At around 11.40am, reports were received of a male coming off a scrambler bike on Waterpark Drive, near to St Brigids Primary School.
The rider was taken to hospital for assessment of serious injuries.
A road closure remains in place from Round Hey to The Withens while enquiries are carried out.
The bike had failed to stop for a marked police vehicle and had been pursued prior to the collision. No other vehicles were involved.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been notified.
