A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Litherland last month.
At around 5.30am on Thursday 28 November, we received a report from North West Ambulance Service that paramedics were treating a man for stab wounds on Chelsea Road.
The victim, a 41-year-old man, received hospital for treatment to back and leg injuries and is recovering from his injuries at home.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent . He has been released on police bail with conditions.
Detective Inspector Ed Barr said: “Although an arrest has been made, our enquiries continue, and we urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or captured the incident on dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage which may be vital to the case to please get in touch.”
Detective Inspector Barr added: “Our officers are committed in removing anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons through proactive use of stop and search powers, open land searches, warrants and education work alongside partners.
“The use of knives and any weapons is reckless and will not be tolerated, and can have devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved.
“I would urge people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime.
“We continue to seek out those involved in knife crime, enticing young and vulnerable people to carry weapons or involved in gangs.”
