A man has been charged with drug supply after drugs, a large quantity of cash and 11 suspected stolen motorbikes were seized in Huyton on New Year’s Eve (Tuesday 31 December).

At 11.58pm, officers attended the home address of Lee Anthony Keegan, 36 years, on Elizabeth Road. During a search of the premises they seized ammunition, Class A and B drugs, thousands of pounds in cash, 11 motorbikes and two quad bikes.

Lee Anthony Keegan, 36 years, of Elizabeth Road, Huyton was charged with acquiring/using/possession criminal property, possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine), and possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis resin).

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today (Thursday 2 January).

A 44-year-old woman from Old Swan was arrested on suspicion of acquiring/using/possession criminal property, handling stolen goods, possession of prohibited ammunition, possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine), and possession with intent to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis). She has been conditionally bailed.

Detective Inspector Graeme Osborne, from our Major Crime Unit, said: “We work 365 days a year in pursuit of criminals who deal drugs in our communities, putting offenders before the courts and seizing drugs destined to be sold on our streets.

“Drug dealers involved in serious organised crime use violence and intimidation to bring fear into the heart of our communities to maintain their illicit trade.

“They are motivated solely by greed and care nothing about the impact their actions have on residents and the vulnerable people they often exploit.

“Information from those communities affected by drug dealing is a vital part of our efforts to stop them, and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so action can be taken.”

If you have concerns about drug dealing in your area you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, call Merseyside Police on 101 or DM @MerpolCC.  Always contact 999 if a crime is in progress.

You can also pass information via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
