We have charged a 52-year-old Knowsley man with the supply of cocaine and cannabis as part of an investigation into encrypted devices.
Jeffrey Bloxam, of Ronaldsway in Halewood, was arrested yesterday, Monday 16 December, by Matrix disruption and Roads Policing Unit officers, in connection with information found as part of Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of Encrochat encrypted mobile devices.
Following a search of a property and a vehicle a large quantity of cash and 17kg of suspected cocaine was recovered and will be forensically examined.
Bloxam has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug Class A (cocaine); conspire to supply a Class A controlled drug (cocaine); conspire to supply a Class B controlled drug (cannabis) and acquire/use/possess criminal property.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral magistrates court today, Tuesday 17 December.
