We have arrested two men on suspicion of going equipped for theft after a car was stopped in Birkenhead.
At around 12.50am today, Friday 13 December, a Matrix patrol stopped a Ford S-Max on Oliver Street East, close to the Pyramids shopping centre.
A search of the car was carried out and two balaclavas, a pair of gloves, bolt cutters, plyers and a pallet knife were recovered.
A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance.
An 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft.
Both are currently in custody as enquiries continue.
