We can confirm that a replica grenade has been removed from a property in Wavertree this morning, Wednesday 24 July.
Emergency services attended the scene on Stevenson Street at around 8.10am following reports that a suspected grenade had been found inside a property.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended and confirmed that the item was a replica and it has now been removed.
A police cordon has now been lifted. Thank you to members of the public, residents and business owners for your patience while we dealt with this incident.
