We have arrested a man on suspicion of murder after a woman was found deceased in Walton Village in the early hours of this morning, Monday 18 November.
At around 2.25am, NWAS informed police of a woman in her 30s being found at an address in Walton Village. She was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A 47-year-old man from Walton Village was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy McCourt said: "This are the early stages of our investigation and we are looking to establish the circumstances into what we are treating as an unexplained death at the current time.
“The victim's family are being supported by specialist officers as these enquiries continue.
