Three arrested following report of fight on Lower Breck Road, Anfield

We can confirm that three people have been arrested following reports that a group of males were involved in a fight in Anfield earlier today, Tuesday 22 October.

At around 4pm, it was reported that a group of males, some who were armed with weapons, were fighting on Lower Breck Road.

 Emergency services attended the scene and following initial inquiries three males, aged 41, 36 and 27 have been arrested on suspicion of s18 assault.  

Three males have been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries.

Chief Inspector Paul Rannard said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation and a cordon remains in place at the scene as officers carry out the initial inquiries.

“This is a shocking incident that occurred in a busy area of Anfield and would have been witnessed by members of the community. Please be reassured that we are taking this extremely seriously and we have already made three arrests.

“If you witnessed what happened or have any information, please come forward. Similarly, if you live in the area or happened to be driving past, please check your CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage to see if you captured anything. Even if it appears insignificant, please get in touch as it could prove vital to our inquiries.

“We are determined to establish the full circumstances of this incident. While we do this, it’s vital that people avoid speculation, especially on social media, which could unnecessarily increase anxiety and fear in the community.”
