Police have charged a man with assault following an incident in Huyton on Saturday 31 August.
At around 10.10pm it was reported that a man punched a taxi driver on Primrose Drive.
The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries to his face. He is still in hospital recovering from his injuries.
Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.
Jordan Dunn, 28 years, of Primrose Drive in Huyton has been charged with Section 18 assault, grievous bodily harm.
Dunn will appear at Sefton Adult Reman Court yesterday, Sunday 1 September and has been remanded into custody. His next court hearing is on Saturday 7 September.
