Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a man who could assist with their enquiries following of a report of an assault of a female member of staff inside a Liverpool city centre pub.
It was reported that at around 11.30pm on Monday 10 March, a female member of staff at The Welkin pub on Whitechapel asked a man to leave the premises due to his behaviour.
It was further reported that the man began to argue and refused to leave. He then grabbed her on the arm and struck her in face with a wooden fork and then left the premises.
The victim sustained a cut to the lower eye lid, and she was taken to hospital to be checked over as a precaution.
Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued a CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Steve Street said: “This was a nasty assault which left the victim with a cut close to her eye which could have been a lot worse, and she was left in shock.
“This was a distressing and cowardly attack on a worker who was just doing her job. Please be assured that our enquiries continue to find the suspect, as such behaviour will not be tolerated.
“With this, I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.
“I am also appealing to the man featured in the image, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
