Officers from Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit have arrested a man following a serious road traffic collision in Kirkdale last night (Tuesday, 8 April).
The incident happened in the Aldi car park on Salop Street at around 9.35pm, when a silver BMW was in collision with a 47-year-old woman. The woman suffered a serious injury to her leg and has since been released from hospital.
The driver of the BMW, a 20-year-old man from Anfield, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.
He has been take to a police station where he will be interviewed by officers.
Officers have carried out examinations at the scene and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any dashcam footage which could help with inquiries, is asked to contact the police.
