A man from Clock Face has been charged with three counts of rape of a child under 16 and a further 11 child sex offences.
Christopher Evans, 62 years, of Clock Face Road, Clock Face has been charged with raping the same victim three times, between 2023 and 2024, following a report made on Thursday 30 January this year.
He has been further charged with two counts of sexual activity with a child, one of sexual communication with a child, two of inciting sexual activity with a child, two of possessing indecent images of children, two of arranging/facilitating the commission of a child sex offence and one of attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offence.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 4 February) where he was further remanded to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 4 March.
Detective Inspector Graeme Kehoe from the Force’s Protecting Vulnerable People Unit said: “The sexual abuse of children is one of the most heinous crimes we tackle as a police force, and we take all reports extremely seriously.
“It is an offence that can have devastating and long-lasting consequences for victims, and we have a dedicated Child & Criminal Sexual Exploitation Team whose sole focus is on protecting young people and bringing perpetrators to justice.
“We urge anyone who is a victim of any form of sexual abuse to please report this to police, and specially trained officers will listen to you and treat you with sensitivity and compassion throughout the entire legal process and beyond.
“We also work with a range of partner organisations who are there to further support victims.”
