We are appealing for information and witnesses following a road traffic collision in Liverpool today, Sunday 2 March.
We were contacted at just before 9.10am following reports a police vehicle and a Ford C-Max Zetec had been in collision on Sefton Street at the junction of Hill Street.
The police vehicle, a Skoda Kodiaq, had been on blue lights and sirens responding to an emergency call at the time of the collision.
The male driver of the Ford was taken to hospital where he is currently in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the police vehicle was checked over but was not seriously injured. A police dog being carried in the police vehicle was also checked over by a vet but was not injured.
Road closures remain in place in the area as investigative work is being carried out.
We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Sefton Street at around 9am today who saw the collision or believes they captured something significant on their dashcam to contact us.
