Detectives in Liverpool City Centre are issuing CCTV images of a woman who may have information following an assault outside a bar on Fleet Street.
On Sunday 7 September at around 1.30am we received a report that a woman was attacked outside a bar on Fleet Street. She suffered bruised suspected fractured ribs and a large portion of her hair was torn out. Two other people were also assaulted during the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Since the assault extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted in the area, officers then arrested a 23-year-old woman from Kirkby on suspicion of assault who since been bailed with conditions. Detectives have now issued further CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak to who could assist in their investigation.
Detective Sergeant Lee Hearne said: “This was a serious and unprovoked attack on a young woman who was out with her friends in our city centre.
“Everyone should be able go out and feel safe in their own community without the fear of being attacked and we are working to find those responsible.
“I am appealing to find the woman shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises her to come forward as we believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you were at Baa Barr at around 1.30am in the early hours of Sunday morning and saw the assault or those involved in this incident please contact police as soon as possible.
“While several weeks have passed since the incident, any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”
