Man charged following cannabis farm discovery in Kensington

We have charged a man with Cannabis production following a warrant in Kensington yesterday, Monday 10 November.

At 9.20am, officers executed a warrant at an address on Fell Street. A man was detained at the rear of the property before entry was gained. He was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.

Upon the search, a commercial-scale cannabis farm was found comprising four grow rooms with a total of 116 cannabis plants, in addition to ventilation systems, lighting and fans.

Mentor Mysliu, 33, of no fixed abode has now been charged with Cannabis production; and Abstracting electricity. Mysliu will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 11 November.

Some of the signs that cannabis is being grown are:

- Strange smells and sounds

- Frequent and varied visitors to a property, often at unusual times

- Gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting

- Windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed

- Heat from an adjoining property

- Birds gathering on a roof in cold weather
