We can confirm a police vehicle was involved in a collision with another car in Port Sunlight on Sunday 30 November.
Just after 5pm, a police car en route to a report of theft was involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Crossland on Bromborough Road at its junction with Ellen’s Lane.
Both people in the Vauxhall were taken to hospital for assessment.
The police driver was unharmed.
Officers remain at the scene while enquiries into the incident continue and motorists are advised to avoid the area as road closures are still in place.
