We have charged a wanted man with multiple offences following his detainment in Liverpool city centre on Wednesday 8 October.
At around 4.30pm, the man was sighted by officers outside the YMCA on Leeds Street. Officers identified him as Ciaran Hannon, 35, of no fixed abode.
Hannon was arrested and taken to a police station for questioning. He has now been charged with the following offences:
• Three counts of Common assault
• One count of Assault by beating
• Seven counts of Breach of Criminal Behaviour Order, which was issued in February 2024, namely by entering Home Bargains, Tesco, Marks and Spencer, and Co-op
• Four counts of Theft from a shop, relating to offences at Home Bargains
• One count of Attempted theft shop
He will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court this morning, Friday 10 October.
Scheduled Resolution Inspector Sophie Smith said: “Hannon will now appear at court but I would like to take this opportunity to reinforce that we will always rigorously enforce Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs).
“When any breaches are suspected, we will make extensive enquiries to find and put before the courts those who seek to commit further offences.
“Working together with the Local Policing Team, we are keenly aware of anti-social behaviour and other issues around this location and will continue to patrol the area and respond to concerns, so please report these to us and we will respond.”
