We can confirm a man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Ellis Cox.
It brings the total number of arrests in this case to six after a 32-year-old man from Croxteth was arrested five days ago.
Earlier today, Tuesday 16 September, a 22-year-old man from Thornton was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a firearm. He remains in custody and will be questioned.
The other arrested males remain on conditional bail pending further inquiries.
Ellis, aged 19, was fatally shot on Sunday 23 June 2024 at the Liver Industrial Estate and enquiries continue to find the person or people responsible.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve McGrath said: “Our investigation continues at pace and we are determined to get justice for Ellis’ family.
“Although we have made another arrest in connection with this incident, I want to urge anyone with information to come forward.
“We’re continuing to appeal for any information from anyone who is yet to come forward, the smallest detail of which could be vital to our inquiries.”
