We can confirm officers are currently at the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the M57 in Knowsley.
We were contacted at around 3.05pm today, Wednesday 10 September, following reports a car had left the motorway and caught on fire on the northbound carriageway close to junction 3.
Emergency services are currently at the scene.
Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area while the matter is being dealt with.
