We are appealing for information following an assault inside an address in Croxteth.
It was reported that at around 9am on Thursday 12 March, a man wearing a balaclava entered a house on Carr Lane then punched and kicked a man working at the address multiple times in the face.
The victim sustained a broken jaw from the unprovoked attack and attended hospital for his injury.
Extensive enquiries have been carried out and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Daniel Zwaagstra said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked assault to the victim who was going about his duties and minding his own business.
“The victim needed surgery for this serious injury, and I appeal for anyone who has information, no matter how small, will help with our enquiries.
“I urge residents to please check your CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage for that morning (Thursday 12 March) to see if it has captured anything which will help the investigation.
“It may be that your evidence however small, may help us bring the perpetrator to justice.”
