Police have issued CCTV images of three women who could assist with their enquiries after hundreds of pounds worth of beauty products were stolen from a shop in Bromborough.
It was reported that at around 5.35pm on Monday 13 April three women entered Superdrug on The Croft Retail Park and walked separately around the store. They then stole large amounts of Korean skincare from the shelves valued at nearly £2560, concealing the items in bags and on themselves.
They then left the store without any attempts to pay for the stolen beauty products.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the offenders, and officers have issued images of three women they believe could assist with their investigation.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Nicola Hughes said: “The store has suffered a significant loss in stock and we are determined to find the offenders so that other businesses are not targeted in future.
“I am appealing to the woman featured in these images, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“I also urge anyone who gets approached on the street to purchase Korean skincare products to please contact us as this information could help with our enquires.”
Inspector Hughes added: “Retail theft is not victimless crime and shops are struggling to keep afloat when many are closing down. Shoplifting and theft is a real financial burden which many shops and businesses suffering.
“The ripple effect on the local economy can be devastating where staff can lose their jobs if the store closes due to constantly losing stock. Theft from stores also impacts shoppers as retailers may then have to raise their prices to make up for the loss of goods stolen.
"We regularly patrol areas the community where we have reports of shoplifting, and provide advice and reassurance. We also visit local businesses and discuss practical ways they can help protect their business from thefts and robberies.”
