We can confirm that a man has been charged following the murder of Carl Ennis in Stockbridge Village last Friday, 17 April.
At around 7.30pm, Carl was assaulted inside The Village Chippy, off Leach Croft. He sadly died earlier this week.
A 25-year-old Stockbridge Village man, who was initially arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent, was re-arrested on suspicion of Murder.
We can confirm that Jahfari Moore, 25, of Marled Hey, has now been charged with Murder. Moore remains in custody to appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court today, Thursday 23 April.
Specialist officers continue to support Carl’s family and a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings said: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone who has yet to come forward about this incident to do so.
“At this point in the investigation, it is also vital that I take this opportunity to remind people not to share or comment in any way which could jeopardise our work. Information should be provided as soon as possible in any of the following ways.”
