We have arrested two men following a fight in Kirkby yesterday evening.
At around 6.10pm on Monday 27 April, officers were called to David Lloyd Gym in Knowsley Industrial Estate, Arbour Lane, to reports of two men being found injured after reportedly fighting inside the location.
A 46-year-old man from Brighton-le-Sands and a 53-year-old man from Netherley were found at the scene. Both men were arrested on suspicion of Affray and have been taken to police stations to be questioned.
Detective Inspector Edward Barr said: "This would have been a shocking incident to witness, carried out in full view of members of the public nearby, including children. We are gathering all available evidence and want to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or has since received information. Two men are in custody and we are working hard to establish the timeline of this incident.
"We are aware of social media video of the incident and I would urge people with information not to comment on such channels, but come into us directly so as not to hinder the investigation."
