Police presence in Stanley Park, Liverpool

We can confirm officers are in Stanley Park in Liverpool following the discovery of the body of a woman.
We were contacted by a member of the public at around 5.25pm yesterday, Friday 28 August.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman and inform the next of kin. At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained.
A Home Office postmortem will take place today, Saturday 29 August, to establish the cause of death.
A cordon is in place around the park while the incident is being dealt with and CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out.
