Detectives have issued a CCTV image of a woman who could assist with their enquiries following a robbery in Liverpool city centre.
We received a report that at around 7.55am on Saturday 27 December a man became engaged in an argument with two women, and he was punched in the head.
The victim was then pushed to the floor where they stamped and kicked his head and body.
The women stole his mobile phone, an iPhone 7 in a red case, and a wallet belonging to his father.
Both offenders then made off on foot towards Derby Square.
Patrols attended and took the 19-year-old victim to hospital after sustaining various cuts and bruises to his body.
Extensive enquiries were carried out and on 25 January a 45-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of robbery. She has been released on police bail with conditions pending further enquiries.
Today, detectives have issued a CCTV image of woman they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a cowardly attack and robbery where thankfully the victim’s injuries were not serious despite having his head stamped on.
“Although we have made an arrest our enquires into the robbery continue, and I am appealing to the woman featured in this image, or anyone who recognises her to come forward. We believe she could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
