Drivers are being advised to avoid the Eastway area of Maghull following a serious injury road traffic collision this evening (Tuesday, 10 February).
Emergency services (Merseyside Police, North West Ambulance and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service) were called at about 7.20pm to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
The male driver of the black Ford Fiesta has stopped at the scene.
An investigation is underway and forensic examinations are taking place at the scene.
Eastway has been closed near to Maghull shops and traffic diversions have been put in place. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
