We are appealing for information following a robbery in Kirkby this evening, Wednesday 28 January.
Just before 7pm we received a report a man was cycling along Mill Lane when two males on a Sur-ron motorbike approached him and asked who the bike belonged to. They then moved towards him and as they did so he threw the bike to the ground and ran away towards Hill Park Cresent in fear.
The two males caught up with him and carrying a knife and struck the victim several times during which he fell to the ground and his watch was stolen.
The victim, a man in his 30s, sustained a cut lip which required medical treatment.
CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out, and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
Inspector Daniel Greenhalgh said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim who sustained injuries as a result.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation and are conducting a number of lines of enquiries to find the two offenders.
“I would urge anyone who has information which will assist the investigation to contact us so we can bring them to justice.”
