Appeal after car collides with tree in Speke

We can confirm emergency services attended reports a car had collided with a tree in Speke this evening (Saturday 25 July).

It was reported shortly after 6.15pm that a white VW ID had collided with a tree on Speke Hall Avenue, near to the Liverpool John Lennon Airport roundabout.

The man, who is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel, was treated at the scene by a member of the public and paramedics and has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

A road closure is in place on Speke Hall Avenue from the roundabout to its junction with Dunlop Road. It does not affect motorists arriving at the airport and those leaving are being directed by airport staff to alternative exits.
