We are continuing to appeal for information after a man was shot in the arm in Liverpool last night, Wednesday 3 June.
We were called to Carlingford Close in Toxteth at just after 8.40pm following reports the 19-year-old man had suffered an injury to his arm consistent with a firearm being used.
It is believed the victim had been outside the nearby Merseyside Caribbean Council community centre on Amberley Street when he was injured. There were no reports of anyone else being injured.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injury which is not believed to be life threatening. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out in the local area.
Detective Sergeant Leighanne Davies said: “At this stage the motive for the attack is unclear but it is only by sheer good luck that the man was not more seriously injured or even killed.
“We believe the male gunman was dressed in dark clothing and riding an e-bike and I would ask for anyone who was in the area around Amberley Street who saw anyone fitting that description to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“Our work to remove firearms and those who choose to use them remains ongoing and we encourage the public to continue to support us by telling us what they know.”
