Four men charged with Class A drugs offences

We have charged four men with Class A drugs offences.

As part of an ongoing operation into a County Line operating in Liverpool a number of warrants were carried across Liverpool city centre yesterday, Tuesday 2 June, and arrests made. Quantities of Class A drugs together with cash, designerwear and watches and drugs paraphernalia were recovered.

Joseph Hide, 27, of Green Leach Court, St Helens and Liam Malvern, 25, of Granville Road, Liverpool have both been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A (Heroin and Cocaine), and acquire/use/possess criminal property.

They were both remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Wednesday 3 June.

In a separate investigation into encrypted data obtained by Encrochat we carried out further warrants in Liverpool yesterday and made arrests. A small quantity of drugs and mobile phones were seized.

Luke McCormick, 41, of Beechtree Road, Liverpool and Austin McCormick, 46, of Fallbrook Drive, Liverpool, have both been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs.

Both were remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Wednesday 3 June.

These were both ongoing county lines investigations by Project Medusa – Merseyside’s dedicated team to tackle County Lines drug dealing and criminal exploitation across the country.

Detective Sergeant Carl Lynch said: “Our investigations into County Lines drug dealing and Encrochat continue at a pace on a daily basis.

“We know drugs and associated criminality is a concern for our communities and combatting it remains a priority for Merseyside Police.

“As always we would ask for the public’s help in identifying where drugs are being sold and who’s behind it and would ask that anyone with information contacts us so we can take action.”
