Today, Wednesday 3 June, a man has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Ellis Cox in Aintree.
Ellis, aged 19, (pictured) was fatally shot on Sunday 23 June 2024 at the Liver Industrial Estate and enquiries continue to find those responsible.
Today a 24-year-old man from Walton, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. He has been taken into police custody where he will be questioned by detectives.
This brings the total number of arrests in this case to eight, with the previously arrested seven people all on conditional bail pending further inquiries.
Detective Inspector Steve Wilkinson said: “Our investigation continues to progress and this man will be questioned about Ellis’ murder.
“Although we have made this arrest, I want to urge anyone with information to come forward.
“I want to thank the community so far for the information they have provided to us and please be assured that we are determined to get justice for Ellis’ family.
“We’re continuing to appeal for any information from anyone who is yet to come forward, the smallest detail of which could be vital to our inquiries.”
