A man has been charged following an assault in Kensington yesterday morning, Monday 1 June.
Just before 8.25am officers witnessed an incident where a man sustained a laceration to his face on Prescot Road.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was treated by paramedics at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
The offender ran off however was quickly detained by officers.
Alan Hewitt, 28 years, of Elm Vale in Fairfield, has been charged with Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and Common assault of an emergency worker.
He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance today, Tuesday 2 June, at South Sefton Magistrates Court.
