We can confirm that there is a motorway closure of the M53 following a serious RTC this morning, Monday 15 June.
At around 3.25am, emergency services were called to Junction 4 at Clatterbridge following the report of a serious collision.
A full closure will be in place on both sides of the carriageway between Junctions 4 and 5 northbound and southbound.
Please note that this is likely to be in place for several hours and drivers are advised to monitor traffic services prior to embarking on any journey.
