Officers are appealing for information following a serious road traffic collision in Birkenhead yesterday, Sunday 28 June.
At around 5.20pm officers received a report of a collision on Park Road North involving a black Ford Focus and cyclist.
The cyclist suffered multiple injuries to his face and ribs and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Duke Street was closed after the incident but has since been reopened.
Detective Sergeant Martin Mayne from our Roads Policing Unit said: "This was a very serious collision that has left a man in hospital with several injuries.
The driver of the car has been placed under investigation for causing serious Injury by careless driving and we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at around 5.20pm.
“I would urge anyone who was on Duke Street or Park Road North and witnessed the incident, to come forward immediately. If you were in the area with a dashcam, then please contact us so that we can check for anything that may be potentially useful to our investigation.”
