A woman has been charged after taking items from a store on three separate occasions this month in Prescot.

On Saturday 6 June we received a report that a woman had entered Home Bargains on Prescot Park Way and took laundry items to the value of £19.93 before leaving the store.

Later that day the woman entered the same store and took six packs of laundry detergent to the value of £41.94 before leaving the store.

Yesterday, Monday 15 June, the woman entered the same store again and took items to the value of £78.91 before leaving the premises.

Officers arrested the woman on suspicion of three theft offences at the store in Prescot.

Deborah Yates, aged 39, of Latham Close in Prescot was charged with three theft offences. She was remanded into custody and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 16 June.

Another woman was charged after a breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order at Cables Retail Park in Prescot. It was reported that the woman was seen at the Range where she  banned from entering.

Jane Rossiter, 48, of Beaconsfield, Prescot was charged with breaching a criminal behaviour order.  She was remanded into custody and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 16 June.

A man was also charged with theft offences in Prescot. On Tuesday 5 May at around 8.40am a man entered Tesco at Cables Retail Park and took items to the value of £81.25 before leaving the store.

Glynn Andrew Thomas, 48, of Beaconsfield Prescot was charged with three theft offences. He was remanded into custody and appeared at Sefton Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 16 June.

Inspector Ray Mavrakakis said: “Our officers will take firm action to prevent any thefts at retailers in Prescot.

“Business burglaries can have a devastating economic impact on our businesses – when they are left out of pocket it can impact the livelihoods of those who work there, with local people losing their jobs as businesses seek to cover their losses, and  consumers hit when shops are forced to increase prices to make up for lost earnings.

“We remain committed to supporting our local businesses and retailers in Prescot and will continue to take action and prevent such crimes that often affect employers.”
