We can confirm that armed police are in Litherland following a shooting this afternoon, Monday 23 March.
At around 4pm, we were called to reports of shots being fired in the area of Fulwood Way. No injuries have been reported.
Officers are in the area to establish the circumstances and gather evidence. Cordons and road closures are in place while this work continues. Please avoid the area and thanks for your patience.
As part of enquiries, four men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and taken into custody for questioning. A firearm has also been seized and will be forensically recovered.
