We can confirm that a 27-year-old man seriously injured at a business premises on Primrose Business Park, Rimrose Road, Bootle on Wednesday, 25 March, has died this afternoon as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The man has been named as Yasen Sharif.
Merseyside Police is continuing to investigate the incident, with the support of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A Home Office post mortem will take place on Monday, 30 March, and file has/is been/being prepared for the Coroner.
Yasen's family, who are devastated by his loss have issued the following statement:
"It is with profound sadness and unimaginable grief that we announce the passing of Yasen Sharif at the age of just 27 years.
"Yasen's death was a tragedy, and the circumstances surrounding how he passed are deeply heart-breaking.
"Our family is devastated and we are committed to seeking justice to ensure this does not happen again.
"Yasen was a beloved son, husband, brother and friend. He was a computer science graduate and was pursuing his Masters Degree in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at Liverpool John Moores University. He was passionate, driven, and full of promise.
"He brought light, warmth, and happiness everywhere he went. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Yasen, or crossing paths with him, will remember his kindness, his spirit and the joy he gave so freely to others.
"He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
"Our family kindly asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult time, as we grieve this devastating loss."

We can confirm that emergency services are currently in Bootle following a reported industrial incident.
At around midday today (Wednesday 25 March), we received a report that a man had been seriously injured at a premises on Rimrose Road.
Emergency services attended the scene and the man has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
An investigation into what happened is in the very early stages and the HSE is in the process of being notified.
