We are appealing for information following arson at a business site in St Helens yesterday, Tuesday 26 May.
At around 9.45pm it was reported that a bin shed and warehouse at Alumasc Exterior Products on Bold Road were on fire.
The smaller bin shed fire was put out with a fire extinguisher, however Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended extinguished the flames.
A joint investigation between Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police has commenced and anyone with information is asked to contact police.
Detective Inspector James Rotheram said: “We are in the early stages of the investigation, however both fires at the site are believed to have been started deliberately.
“We all know too well the devastation and fatal consequences such an incredibly dangerous act can cause and puts the lives of people at risk.
“We are making enquiries and exploring all CCTV opportunities in the area, and our investigation continues.
“We know that the fire attracted a lot of people who filmed the fire and posted the footage online. We urge those who filmed the fire to please contact us so we can review the footage which may help with our enquiries.
“If you live in the area and saw anything suspicious yesterday evening, please let us know. Similarly, if you have CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcam, please check them to see if you captured anything that could help our ongoing investigation.”
