Detectives are appealing for information after a business burglary in Kirkby in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 14 May.
At around 2.20am, a report was received of an alarm being activated at H&T Pawnbrokers on St Chads Parade. Patrols attended and found damage to the shop window, and jewellery stolen from within.
CCTV, forensic and other enquiries are underway.
Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said: "This was a brazen offence, resulting in damage and loss of items. We are hopeful that someone living nearby or passing saw or captured the suspect on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell devices. You may hold vital evidence.
"For hardworking members of our community to be targeted in such a way is absolutely disgraceful and we will support them as we investigate. Burglary has a significant impact on individuals and businesses and we will do all we can to find those responsible and put them before the courts."
