We have charged a man with vehicle crime offences as part of an investigation in Sefton.
On Monday 7 April, a report was received that an unknown male had attempted to remove a wheel from a vehicle on Raleigh Street, Bootle.
On Monday 4 May, a report was received of a male attempting to remove a headlight from a vehicle at the same location. He was arrested nearby.
Further enquiries resulted in the recovered of other suspected stolen vehicle parts, and work is ongoing in relation to these items.
Richard Wiggins, 39, of Eaton Road, Maghull has now been charged with the following offences:
Theft from a motor vehicle, in relation to a headlight stolen on Monday 4 May.
Attempted theft from a motor vehicle, in relation to an attempt to steal car parts from a vehicle on Monday 7 April.
Wiggins has been bailed to appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 30 June.
