A man and woman have been charged after police pursued a man on a bike in Toxteth on Monday (28 September).
Officers on proactive patrol spotted the pedal cycle on Upper Parliament Street when it was ridden away at speed. Patrols located the rider on Windsor Street a short time later after a foot pursuit.
Following a search, officers recovered cannabis, white powder and cash. After the search of an address, a woman was detained and two machetes, one Samurai sword, cannabis and a large quantity of cash recovered.
Jamie Joseph Crawford, 20 years, of Mill Lane Wavertree was arrested and later charged with possession of Class A and B controlled drugs (cocaine and cannabis) and possession of an offensive weapon in a private dwelling.
He was remanded into custody to appear at South Sefton Magistrates Court today (30 September).
Amanda Sarah Crawford, 57 years, also of Mill Lane, Wavertree was charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of criminal property.
She was bailed to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on 16 October.
Detective Chief Inspector Paula Jones said: “Our officers are committed to Targeting anyone who stores, carries and uses weapons in Merseyside.
“I appeal to anyone with information about weapons and those storing and carrying them to contact us so that we can conduct enquiries and take robust action.”
