Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
The Merseyside Police Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is provided by Health Assured.
The programme offers support on a wide variety of issues, helping you to work towards realistic, achievable solutions.
Service Overview
- Up to six sessions of face to face, telephone or online counselling for each case
- Full case management protocols for all structured counselling cases
- Unlimited access to 24/7/365 confidential telephone helpline
- Coverage for dependants and retirees (up to three months) within HMRC guidelines
- Self, manager, HR, physiotherapy, trade union and OH referrals
- Legal information services including debt & financial information
- 24/7 Crisis Assistance Support available
- Couples counselling
- Family advice line on topics such as childcare and eldercare
- Manager consultancy and support
- Online Health and Wellbeing Portal and mobile app
This service is available to any spouse/partner and children between the ages of 16-24, in full time education and living under the same roof as the covered employee. They can access the helpline, online video and structured telephone counselling only. Face to face counselling only extends to couples counselling if the employee requests it.

Information on a range of issues including, but not limited to; consumer, family including dependent care, wills and commercial.
24/7 Crisis Assistance Support
Bespoke response 24/7/365 for critical incidents that occur in the workplace through in-house trauma practitioners.
Signposting
Counsellors directly for specialist signposting onward referral to support within the employees' locality.
