Volunteer Police Cadets participate in a one year development program for young people aged 16-18 years.
The program is an exciting, well established opportunity to develop life skills, enhance your CV and help prepare for future careers both within the Police and other professions.
The Cadet program is nationally accredited and led by a team of Police officers, staff and volunteers who have experience of working with young people.
There are weekly sessions during term time in Uniform that involve learning about the various roles and departments within Merseyside Police. These include visits to the control room, mounted department, firearms unit.
In addition Cadets learn and take part in Police training. Other activities include fundraising, community activities, high profile civic events and teambuilding.
A straight-forward online application form, which asks for your personal details - similar to a standard job application form.
We undertake a straight-forward vetting process, which includes a background check on you and your immediate family.
You will be invited to attend an induction evening with a Parent/Guardian were you will be given more information in relation to the Programme and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
